At HES, our overarching aim is to improve the health and wellbeing of the pupils we teach. It is intrinsic to the work HES does with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to meet the unique needs of every child.
We want to ensure that all pupils - regardless of how long their hosptal stays are - get opportunities to explore a range of important issues.
Health and Wellbeing (HWB) teachs your child about:
- mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing
- planning for choices and changes
- physical education, activity and sport
- food and health
- substance misuse and relationshipsh
- sexual health and relationships
The purpose of HWB is to help every young person to feel cared for and valued as an individual. Learning about some or all of the above themes will help them to cope with the uncertainties in life, have confidence to try new and different things, and make the most of opportunities that come along.
