At HES, we provide a learning environment in line with GIRFEC indicators, where pupils are safe, healthy, achieving, nurtured, active, respected, responsible and included.
At HES, we want all of our pupils to develop their wellbeing and be motivated to learn.
We promote excellence and achieve this by maximising the support of stakeholders such as Consultants, Nursing Staff, Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, CAMHS, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Family Therapy, Social Work and pupils' base schools.
Through close partnership working, we support your children through their transitions from hospital back to their base schools.
HOW ARE PARENTS/CARERS INVOLVED?
- You're welcome to see teaching in progress (depending on infection control measures). Make an appointment with your child's teachers to discuss progress at any time.
- Pupils are issued with a KIT (a 'keep in touch' sheet), allowing parents and teachers to stay in contact.
- You'll get a questionnaire to complete. We'll use your feedback to ensure we meet needs effectively.
- Upon your child's discharge (and monthly if their admission is for more than 10 school days), we will e-mail to their base school the details of the work your child completed during their stay. You can request a copy of this.
