PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT AT HES

At HES, we provide a learning environment in line with GIRFEC indicators, where pupils are safe, healthy, achieving, nurtured, active, respected, responsible and included.

At HES, we want all of our pupils to develop their wellbeing and be motivated to learn.

We promote excellence and achieve this by maximising the support of stakeholders such as Consultants, Nursing Staff, Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, CAMHS, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Family Therapy, Social Work and pupils' base schools.

Through close partnership working, we support your children through their transitions from hospital back to their base schools.

HOW ARE PARENTS/CARERS INVOLVED?

  • You're welcome to see teaching in progress (depending on infection control measures). You can make an appointment with your child's teachers to discuss progress at any time.

  • Pupils are issued with a KIT (a 'keep in touch' sheet). This allows parents and teachers to be stay in contact.

  • You will be given a questionnaire to complete and we will use feedback to ensure we meet your child's needs.

  • Upon your child's discharge (and monthly if planned admission is for more than 10 school days), we e-mail details of all work your child completed during their stay to their base school. You can request a copy.
